Composer speak date variable

Hello there!
I am having a difficulty announcing the date that I store in a variable. My date has the following form: 2013-07-02
If I set it as a string the application announces it without a problem. But when setting it to Date inside the prompt block properties, the call is dropped when reaching it. I suspect it has something to do with the en-US.js file or the PromptSwitch.js.. Has anybody done something like this?
