Reg:Route Points
« on: January 06, 2010, 09:09:46 AM »
Hi Everyone

I am new to genesys. Could any one tell me ,is it possible to use route points to transfer call from one site to another site.(Like external route points)?.
What is the difference between switch specifc type 1/2/3 DNs. Is it decided at switch end or in Genesys?

Thanks
JJR

Yes you can use TRoute to fire calls from a route point to another on a different T-Server. But the question is then "why would you want to?".

As for switch specific types, the clue is in the name, they are configured in Genesys as a result of the switch build. On a Nortel switch for example you can have ACD groups configured as ACDs (SS Type 1) or as CDN's. These are configured in the switch as a single Primary number (SS Type 3) and a number of supplimentaries (SS Type 2).

Additionally ACD Positions and Extensions are all SS Type 1, as are Genesys only resources - VQs, Call Processing Ports.

Clearly these values may be different on other switch types so it is best to check the T-Server documentation.
