Spectrum Ultralink II Wallboards
« on: December 15, 2008, 11:34:23 PM »
Has anybody got any experience integrating these wallboards into Genesys to show stats?  Any suggestions on which SDK we would use... GIS or Platform SDK?
More info as I find out what the requirements are!

Yup, the SDK will depend on how and what you need to do. GIS is easier, true but more restricted. Platform is more powerfull but more hard to deploy, not impossible.
I have an Alcatel wallboard which uses GIS, does the work but sometimes I get stuck because of GIS. But worst is nothing and until I end my own development maytake a while.

Yes, if we can't find any generic wallboard connector (not aware of one) that does stuff like writing to a database that the Spectrum stuff can read through its ODBC connector, then I'd probably suggest GIS due to it's fast development model. Given time and budget though, I'd love to do it in PSDK.
Seems like the Spectrum system the customer has is very old (Windows 98!!  :o ) and they may not be able to upgrade, so dumping stats into a database may be the only option. *Sigh*. Oh well.
They could always use that old ActiveX DLL that's hanging around..... ;)

Other than a DB interface do the wallboards have a specific protocol that they require data in? Push or Pull?
