You are are right It is ridiculous. They will not be providing any support for the web piece and we are having these discussions with them for a while and our project is on hold pending pricing discussions. What they came up asking to pay for Advance agent connector for  number of agents we have (about 1200) and they will take that for a Max even though KPI's are going to the Web. We will be paying 1200*n00 which is absurd if we go with the solution

Let me explain the application

We are a high customer service organization which our customers use web very frequently. Business wants to pu wait time on the web page so that customer can know in advance how long they have to wait to call the agent or go in self serv mode. Our Web piece is very simple and we are already pulling stats thru GIS wall board connector

Maybe not be the best but, what about putting a function on a strategy that will recollect the EWT when a call or interaction enters, trigger a DB Store Procedure which will store this into a DB table, and you the recollect this info.
May not be a "real time" but can help...if you have a high call flow info can be very continuous.
Also, why not prompt the EWT using a voice guide instead of web?

It sounds really strange. I've never heard about any per concurrent user license from Genesys. And I tried to get such one in the past because it would fit our needs and was told there is no way.

I would definitely "press" Genesys to explain why you can't use Wallboard Connector license or at worse Enterprise Connector license (per site, costs $$$$$$ but not milions).

Are you in contact with Genesys directly or with a Genesys partner?

I can nail them down now looking at  link and at Integ G we just require Wall board Connector License which we have

We are working thru a reseller Guess they wanted to take us for as ride

Can any one recommend a Hammer testing tool (Low cost) in addition to Emprix(Expensive)  ??? We are upgrading to GVP 7.5 from 6.5

Ok,

I think that we are missing a whole picture here. Even though Genesys sometimes goes overboard on their licensing schemes, usually they would not charge for something simple that much unless your sales representative is an idiot and he does not give a damn about you.

While I am not sure what can be done about licensing, I am suggesting a slightly different approach:

1. what stats do you need to show to your users? If this is something you can collect yourself, perhaps there is a simpler way to do it.
2. why are you using GIS? I hate it from the bottom of my heart.

My guess is that you want to show total number of calls in queue and estimated waiting time, right?
There are several ways to do it:

1. use Genesys SDK to write an application to do this. Cost: Genesys SDK developer kit: 20,000 USD (or so?) + whatever the connector cost. If you already have Genesys SDK for 6.5, 7.x should be free. You DO NOT need to buy Genesys SDK to use it - you only need it to develop, so, if someone else will develop it for you, you will just pay for development costs and then whatever the license to show it on the web.
2. access Stat Server db tables and get info from there (probably some licenses)
3. Get Quest Server we have here for free that is built on Genesys ActiveX. Modify it to your heart's content and then deal with licenses. Should be interesting to see what happens there.

Asking you to pay millions to show basic queue status on the web is a joke. Unless it is a VQ, why not just publish CMS (or whatever other PBX you use) on a web instead? (this threat itself should get the licensing from Genesys taken care of). I do not know what I am talking about when it comes to licensing costs, but I would feel funny if I had to pay more than 30,000 USD for license to show number of calls in a queue on a web. Wouldn't you?

Hello, I'd like to write an IVR Driver using Genji JTele and ComLib. It will be used for 3rd party IVR's integration (HP OCMP, Avaya AVP).
What kind of licensing does it really requires?
