Lack of space on the ODS tablespace

QUESTION: Can we manually remove the OL_DATAxxx tables within Oracle SQL Plus?

SCENARIO: Presently ETL Runtime process is not transferring data from ODS to Datamart. There's already
an open ticket at Genesys Tech Support for this.

PROBLEM:
But the consequence of the problem with ETL Runtime is that once the ODS data hasn't been moved to Datamart since July 4th (and we hadn't never set the dropTRansferredTables parameter in trans_xxx.property files because we were still testing and validating the reports), the ODS tablespace grew and now it run out of space (we don't have more space on the disk to increase the size of the tablespace). I was wondering if there is any way to delete old data from ODS (OL_DATAxxx tables) that were already moved to Datamart. Can we manually remove the OL_DATAxxx tables within Oracle SQL Plus?

Note: I set the dropTRansferredTables parameter in trans_only.property file
and nothing happened.

  • You can fix that by doing two things:

    a. specify the purge in ETL assistant's Report Folder>View
    b. set the purge settings in ETL .properties file
