GVP Resource Manager
« on: August 09, 2012, 07:05:32 PM »
We have a sip 8/gvp 8.1.2/avaya mediagateway set up.
I am wondering if our integrator set up the inbound lines using the recommended method.
The mediagateway sends all calls to the sip IP/port.
Within genesys config, we have ACD queues (DNIS), that have a route point association.
We use URS centric routing, route point calls ird strategy, and we play applications within here.

When monintoring within GA, the mcp component generates data however the resource manager does not.
I am thinking this means resource manager is not distributing interactions across the mcp's.

In the sip switch we have a trunk group for outbound, and mediagateway trunk for inbound.
thanks.

Hi,

I see two possibilities:

1/ Platform is configured in a way that SIP Server talks directly with MCP without using Resource Manager - please check what IP address and port is configured for Voice IP Service that points to GVP.

2/ Platform is configured to use Resource Manager but Resource Manager is not connected to GVP Reporting Server thus no reporting is available for RM component.

R.

thank you.
All our VOIP services were pointing directly to the mcp.
changing the msml for example now generates data for the resource manager component and resources tenant.

so than you are running a non supported architecture, even it is working fine. genesys expects to always have sip server => rm => mcp/ccp

I think both are supported, however it is recommended to use resource manager.
previously our VOIP services were going to mcp directly, now they are going to mcp via resource manager.

Both architecture are fully supported for Media Services. For GVP it is only supported to go through RM. Direct connection from SIP to MCP has some limitation (some features are not working) vs integration with RM. For small system it doesn't make sense to go with RM.
