Title: Inbound ANI number translation - SIP Server
Post by: nickers on June 12, 2014, 03:38:08 PM
Hello Genesys People

Has anyone tried to set up number translations using the 'inbound-translator' option in SIP Server 8.1?

According to the documentation, you can use translation to change an ANI presented to SIP/T-Server and, in my case, what I am wanting to do is add a leading '9' to the number. The reason for this is to prevent the SAP back-end from doing a lookup for a customer account number, based on the presented ANI. Adding a '9' to the number stops SAP from recognising any association with stored accounts.

Although the documentation for SIP Server suggests that this can be done and I have added the sections/options as directed, the SIP Server is either ignoring these changes, or not acting on them (nothing in log files suggests that SIP Server is performing any translation). The document does say that these option changes 'should' be dynamic, so I haven't re-started SIP Server.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has managed to make this feature work with SIP Server, or am I going to have to manipulate the ANI in the gateway?

Cheers

Nick
