Title: License Reporting Manager (LRM)
Post by: PFCCWA on January 17, 2013, 04:42:55 PM
Hello,

Has anybody used this product?
Having read the deployment guide it looks as though it can only set up in a unix server?

What are the alternatives, if any?
We are very keen on tracking and monitoring Genesys license usage.

Thanks.

As posted a number of times, Tony Tillyer has a product\service which has been  verified by Genesys.

Hi, we have tried it but it really is not very good. At least if you want to know license usage exactly. It will give you peak usage per day or month per license type. You can make some bundling on license type, but it does not contain and-operator, so you will not find amount of users using for example voice and email license at the same time. (only users using email or voice at the same time)

We did try it on Linux, and it will require Icon also..

Operator? Like agent? And why do you want that if Genesys licenses are per concurrence not per user...

You tried LRM; GLM doesn't need Icon / Infomart and is supposed to give much more info - contact Genesys for it.

Cav, on the technical side of things, licenses work on a concurrency model, but commercially, this is not the case.

Commercially if you have 200 seats but you use only 10, Genesys will sell you the 200...but not with agents names as you can have 1000 agents created on CME...therefore you don't need agents names...doesn't make any sense on licensing control side.
Maybe he has some special needs on his side, like department and other stuff but as per framework licensing side is not needed

Boolean operator.. 1 or 0 equals 1, 1 and 0 equals 0

Problem was that we did want to see how many agents were using voice or email only and how many were using voice and email simultaneously. With no luck. I can get first two values, but I get only daily peak, so I cannot make any calculations on the numbers (because those values can be from different time slots).

Tony's service/product reports on what the agent is configured in CME to take; so if they have only email skills then thats what is reported, etc.
