Hardware Sizing
« on: August 22, 2014, 03:04:27 PM »
Hello,

When using the hardware sizing, is it feasible to take the medium contact center specs for larger environments?
The medium cc spec covers upto 1000 agents (or 500-1000 as per doc).
if I was to set up a 3000 agent wfm solution, could I use the medium spec as a baseline without risk of under or over powering.
The doc also stated to consult with genesys PS for larger contact centers but am sure this will cost.

thanks.

The docs are recommendations, not a bible...you as expert and consultant should analyze what is going to happen on that CC and do some evaluations. After that is your call. We can't say yes or now based on a single product/number.
I have done installations of small number of agents but with many servers and powerful due other needs. Others big ammount of agents with small servers as they won't use all features, at least not initially.

I would think the medium size is too small for that amount of agents but it depends a lot on how its used.

At least go for the option with seperate servers. I see far higher RAM usage than what the guide recommends having in the servers (2gb if I am not mistaken) having a WFM solution with 2000+ agents.

Also remember to use a config server proxy in front of the WFM solution as it will create a huge amount of config server connections.
