SIP Server HA - IP Address Takeover
« on: July 10, 2014, 01:11:46 PM »
Hi,

I am setting up SIP server HA using IP address takeover mechanism using the Virtual IP. As per the document i configured the both the SIP server application objects and created the batch files to enable and disable the Virtual IP.

I am able to execute the batch files manually from both the primary and secondary server and the Virtual IP is getting assigned. But when i try to switchover the SIP server and expecting that the Virtual IP is enabled using the Third Party application object created to enable / disable the batch files.

Please if anyone has previous experience in implementing SIP HA, it would be helpful.

If any other information is required, please do feel free to ask as i am new to the forum and i am not aware of what is to be attached while posting a query.  :)

Thank You
Rashid

On what level did you configure the startup of reaction scripts - on SIP server object level or within alarm reaction?

Could you check the NIC setting on the hots (running of primary mode) after switch over.
then if VIP isn't setting on the NIC, Please check the line of the NetworkAdapterName in the files.

@Kubig

Thanks for the response. The startup scripts are configured at SIP server object level as mentioned in SIP HA Deployment guide 8.1

@Mochikin

When i start the application object to run the script to enable/disable the VIP, it works fine as the VIP is assigned or can be disabled manually. But when i configure the same application object at the SIP server level to run automatically when a failover takes place, it doesn't work out.

This is very general prerequisite for HA. Please, in next time try to better check your configuration before create unimportant topic.
