ODS Installation

Pardon me for being a newbie here.

I'm at a lost in the process of installation of ODS, not quite sure which is to be done first and HOW :( . I have gone thru the genesys documents, help guides but nothing really points me to the right direction of where i can get the procedure for ODS DB to be installed. In Frmwk, there is this 'db initialization wizard' where i can set the Config Db. Anyone can tell me where to start off for me to initialize and install ODS in sql srvr?

Thanks.

Create a DB on your SQL Server
Create a user with admin access to it
Create a DAP on Genesys with credentials and server info for your SQL Server
Attach to a DBServer
Create ODS instance on CME
Install ODS
Start ODS
You are done

Now go to DMA (read deployment guides please) and create your layouts.

This is all explained on the Deployment guides...

Hi Cavagnaro,

Create ODS instance on CME -> hmm, not clear, does it mean ODS = Datasourcer Application?
Install ODS -> where can i obtain the scripts to create the tables, procs, views etc?
Start ODS -> from DMA ?
You are done

I hve gone thru the dep guides but could not really find the steps.

I would have to ask this one: What are you doing installing a Genesys solution if no experience? What kind of solution will you provide?

1. ODS = Operation Data Source
2. No scripts needed (as explained on the documentation Reporting Deployment Guide)
3. Come on! lol! DMA is a ODS GUI...which component controls your services? Yes, Genesys installs everything as Windows Services...you can do it via Windows services (services.msc) or via SCI...

This kind of installations are those were customers blames Genesys for being a bad product when it has nothing to do with the product but the installer....yes, I'm defending that Genesys should be installed with at least some basic knowledge on how the solution works.

Regards.

Understand...

just unsure how to get the db to have the tables... eg OL_DB_Properties and the rest of the objects...
there must be some script...or there must be the "db initialization wizard" like in frmework to handle this...but cant find one...
