Watchdog not start
« on: October 01, 2009, 11:58:57 AM »
Hi,

I am trying to install GVP in my office. I did the installation using GDT, and the problem is that the watchdog doesn't start. I tried to start the service with the option -s, and it didn't work. In the log of the watchdog it doesn't appear anything ...

I also tried the manual installation, and the result was the same.

I installed the next software (all the software in the same server):

- GVP ASR Log Server 7.6.000.11
- GVP Dispenser 7.6.000.11
- GVP EMPS 7.6.000.79
- GVP IVR Server Client 7.6.000.14
- GVP Portal 7.6.000.03
- GVP Core Components
- GVP Deployment Agent
- IP Communication Server.

Can anyone help me with this issue? Let me know if you need any logs.

Regards

Hi :
i had similar problem with GVP, but i used solaris instead of windows, try this see if it works for you: install the common components in sequence,  then start GVP before you install IPCS, Dispenser ivr client and ASR..

Good luck
Uho

Hi,

Uho001: I have tried the manual installation, and when I had all the components installed the watchdog didn't start.

Cavagnaro: I attach you the logs of GDT installation (logs_GDT.zip), and the logs of cn/log folder. Let me know if you want some other logs. I finished the installation at 12:00 am or 13:00h, and in the log of the watchdog the last message is at 11:28 am.

LDAP service is not up.
Please check on your services and make it autostart and start it.
do a netstat -an |find "389" (if using Windows) and see if you have something listening on that port, if you do then the service is up, verify with LDAP Browser if the credentials are ok.

I had this issue once and problem was that %PATH% didn't had the %SYSTEM% variable, can you please check if you can use the net command under a normal DOS window? Basic OS job begins here.

Great, remember that option -s is only for safe mode, it should be able to start without it after you configure everything ok.
