Genesys CTI Y! Group Closure...
« on: July 02, 2007, 02:24:10 PM »
Hi All,

With the continued success of this Forum and the features it now provides, I'm currently in the process of "migrating" the members of my Y! Group http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/GenesysCTI/ over to here.

So, within the next week or so I'd appreciate you going easy on any "new" members of this Forum and I'll be doing my best in the meantime to add in any wisdom created there and exporting it to here...

Thanks!

Tony

Hi, Tony,

are you sure this is a good idea? ???

I like the idea of having more than one source for information.

Best regards,
Vic

cavagnaro - I've accepted all requests to join recently... I don't believe I've thrown anyone out (with one exception) for any reason...

Vic - I don't see a reason to have people on a site where they have to get a Yahoo! ID, log in and be identified for posts when the Y! Groups configuration offers nothing more than we have here.  To be honest, I posted a poll and it looks as if the members are in favour of keeping the Group alive, rather than migrating to here.  I wonder what that implies... ???

Tony,

I think it implies that people are used to what they are using and your forum is offering a really great place for them to get it. I think it is really great that there is more than one Genesys site out there. The point of my site has nothing to do with having people only here. I really would love to have an arrangement for cross-forum posting and allowing users to share their insight wherever they please. The idea of this forum is to help other Genesys users as well as help myself. the fact that people like your Y!Forum means just that - you have a great resource that people find useful. And that speaks volumes about the quality of your site.

Some of the data on that forum is not available here, and other data is here. It is like Domino's and Pizza Hut - both serve pizza, and it just about the preference. There is no need to shut one down - it robs people of having a choice.

This forum seems to take a life of its own, so 46,000 hits last month is very impressive, but it cannot replace all the other sites out there. In fact, I think it is the combination of this site with Y!Group and Genesys site is what all of our lives so much easier in terms of dealing with Genesys CTI. And if there is a site to close, then I think it is Genesys Interacts site - it is really a joke... Perhaps we should have a poll asking people if they think Better Interactions should be closed for good!  ;) That would be a hoot! :)

I will prepare a poll just for the heck of it.

Best regards,
Vic

  • Hmm...  I did get a note from one of my Y! group members and his thinking was that I was closing my site because of Genesys BI...  :o  I put him straight on that....

You've sold me on the idea that we need more choices - I'll remove the header on the group that it is closing and have a relaunch party!  ;D
