Project Development
« on: November 29, 2006, 10:33:32 AM »
Hi, guys,

as you have noticed we are starting wallboard project under CTI forum, and I feel like we need a lot of diffierent modules, such as:

1. place to hold documents
2. List of members involved in the project
3. Schedule
4. Way to track bugs
5. Revision history, Documentation, Etc

Can this be done within SMF purview? (<- and how do you spell this?)

Vic

Hi Vic,

you could do worse than use Sourceforge which is free for upto 15 users:

http://www.vasoftware.com/sourceforge/

As 15 users maybe a little restricting, how about getting 10 trusted volunteers to have a login and use them as funnels for the project?

Pavel

BTW - why am I contributing whilst I'm on holiday?  ???  ???

Pavel,

thank you! I have used sourceforge.org to leech programs, but have never contributed  :-[ . How would we go about integrating it with SMF? Should it be just a totally different place with a link placed in SMF forum (as I am inclined to do right now) ?

Why are you posting while away on vacation? Uhm, because you are afraid that Tony will be able to put more posts than you?  ;)
Where exactly are you? I know we sent Tony to Antares Galaxy a few weeks back and he is still somewhere en route and is expected to be so for other 100 or so years.  :P

Hi Vic,

Being lazy at heart I'd keep the two separate..... If you want I could get it hosted and set up for you as part of www.thegenwiki.com

I'm somewhere hot where there is an ad running that encourages people to "Tonk a Pom"!! Being a Pom I'm looking around nervously......

Not having seen the US version of the Office (Bittorrent here I come) and not being a fan of the original The Office (it makes me cringe) I can't really comment. I would though reccomend you watch Extras which Ricky Gervais has now moved on to as it is very very funny.

POM is short for POME which is short for Prisoner Of Mother England, which is long hand for saying British convict, which is what Australians are (I guess I'll get lots of abuse ...). Strangely, and not necessarily logically, POM is a slang word for an Englishman\person. Tonk, is an Ozzie verb for 'hitting very hard', luckily it's used in conjunction with ball games as opposed to people.

PS If any Ozzies are reading this, I don't fancy your chances of winning the Ashes............  :D  :D  :D
