ETL stops every few days
« on: January 01, 1970, 12:00:00 AM »
Hi,

I am using 6.5.2xxx Historical Reporting package and my ETL stops every to days or so. It just does not transfer any more data after a while. I have to restart ETL to get it tranferring again. Any thoughts?

We are using SQL server 2K and ETL is running on Windows2K.

This could be due to it disconnecting from the DB for whatever reason then not been able to reconnect automatically

It could be that you have used the ETL Asisstant (a batch file) to start the ETL Service, instead of allowing CME to look after it for you.

Also, check the settings of your Options on your ETL Application in CME. You should see something like Purge, Tranform, etc. and a time and duration against them. Usually, this would be something like 00:00;0:15 to indicate a clear down at 12:00AM and every 15 minutes thereafter.

Lastly, it is also possible that you have not configured your ETL Assistant correctly. Typically, they are set to collate data for 3 months and purge every day.

Nip me a mail if you like, and I'll paste in some settings for you to check.

nothing really. It is on "standard" settings.
