usependingworkmode and its repercussions

G3 ACW elated work is filling up my schedule and I have realized that I do not fully understand it.

There is an option called usependingworkmode. It allows user to specify ACW after the call is released. Without this option, it seems like agent goes into Busy state and not ACW. Can't it be preset in PBX? And what is wrong with issuing ACW request with Release request? Why the need for this option?

Thanks in advance.

    ASAI Pending Work Mode Change
Allows ASAI applications to change the current work mode of an agent while that agent is busy on a call. The change is a pending change that will take effect as soon as all the current calls are cleared.
